Beaufort County schedules meeting with UHS

The Beaufort County Board of Commissioners will hold a special-called meeting on Wednesday Jan. 26, at 2:45 p.m., at Beaufort County Community College, Building #8 (Continuing Education Building), located at 5337 U.S. Highway 264 East in Washington, to discuss the recent recommendation from the Beaufort Regional Health System hospital board regarding the RFP process for a future operator of Beaufort County Hospital and its real estate.
The commissioners, Beaufort County Manager Paul Spruill and Beaufort County Attorney Billy Mayo will meet with representatives from University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina, as the recommended and sole-remaining bidder, at the Wednesday meeting.
Portions of the meeting may be in closed session.
