Pinetown woman charged with child abuse and neglect

On Jan. 11, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office received a report alleging that a child was given an alcoholic beverage and physically assaulted by an adult at a home on Boyd Loop Road in Pinetown. The Sheriff's Office began an investigation and conducted interviews.
On Mar. 30, Lieutenant Jamie Cahoon applied for and obtained a warrant charging Erin Rae Mizell, age 29, of Free Union Church Road in Pinetown, with one count of Child Abuse and one count of Contributing to the Neglect of a Minor.
On Apr. 6, Mizell was arrested and transported to the Magistrate's Office. Mizell was released on a $15,000 unsecured bond, set by Magistrate J. Mills.
